Jean-Marie Machado (klaver, helilooming), Didier Ithursarry (akordion)

The complicity between Machado and Ithursarry is amazing.
Both musicians play as if they had known for a long time, and at the same time as if they had just met the day before. There telepathy and freshness in their exchanges.
If their duet gives pride to lyricism, both musicians semblen determined not to let it close on them. So, they escape. Machado art imperceptibly to spend lyrical abstract and dreamlike desatmosphères. Ithursarry at some times takes a note to bend to the dissonance."
Jean-François Mondot, Jazz Magazine
Musician of classical formation, inhabited by the spirit of improvisation and creation, eager to meet, Jean-Marie Machado showed a marked taste for unusual orchestral formations. He developed an original writing, sometimes scholarly but always guided by a concern for lyricism. He likes to define himself as a composer of today preoccupied with diverse horizons, openness and exchanges.
In his various projects, we can feel the multiplicity of his cultural heritage: born in Morocco, of an Italian and Spanish mother and a Portuguese father, he discovers jazz in France and learns music from the great concertist Catherine Collard .
For 25 years he has been multiplying new orientations: trio of jazz, research on songs of memory, music on the theme of lyricism, compositions for classical formations, interdisciplinary projects with dance, theater, storytelling ...
His itinerary marked by significant achievements has placed him at the forefront of the creators of the European jazz scene.
Jean-Marie Machado is in residence "compositeur associate" at the Center of the banks of the Marne of Perreux-sur-Marne.
From solo performance to composition for narcotic ensembles, the inspiration of pianist Jean-Marie Machado is one of the richest of French music.
